We made these for the women who are done making themselves smaller — each fan cut by hand from copper sheet into its precise half-circle form, then hammered across the full two and a half inch width one strike at a time until the surface holds the warmth of every blow.

Copper has been worn close to the skin for thousands of years by people who needed to feel the sun's warmth even when it wasn't there, and the women who come back to us always say the same thing: something in them opened back up.
